Ruth has been selected to be part of the Education Ministers Youth Advisory Council. This is an incredible honour and opportunity for Ruth and we are proud of her achievement. 40 young people were selected from across the province. Oct 25 – 28, Ruth was at the Legislature to receive orientation and training, have conversations with Minister LaGrange, and discuss important topics such as Indigenous education, vaping, curriculum, and Choice in education.
Ruth was able to speak directly to Minister LaGrange and she presented a case for increased funding for Independent schools. Students got to know each other, did strengths assessments, had a tour of the Legislature including secret spots, did the Blanket Exercise, and learned about the information and privacy acts.
This was a very full weekend. We are proud of Ruth for pursuing and achieving this opportunity to make her voice heard on important issues related to education. Well done.
